Karate Whole Sport Plan Project Officer
Key Deliverables include:
- Production of an agreed implementation plan for 2005/6 of agreed objectives,
specifically the implementation of a suitable structure for the sport
- Working in consultation with appropriate parties to further develop the detail
of the Whole Sport Plan for Karate including making any necessary structural
changes
- Make recommendations regarding changes in governance documentation to support
Karate in England going forward
- Ensure the timely implementation of a new membership database
- Assisting in the recruitment and induction of appropriate staff, following
funding agreement, to ensure continuation of the Whole Sport Plan

(Please note that this project was completed (in its entirety) for and on behalf
of the EKGB although the WSPIB members now have opportunities to debate and
discuss the initiative through the open consultation method which has recently
been implemented)

This contract will be focused on implementing various aspects of the WSP (once
approved by all parties) in readiness for April 2006.

Job Objectives
- To research the Whole Sport Plans needs and demands for Karate through open consultation and
negotiation with the EKGB, ETKB, NAKMAS and their members
- To prepare, manage and implement Karate’s Whole Sport Plan (by April 2006),
working in partnership with ‘Sport England’s’ case officers and managers to ensure independent Karate ownership
- To complete the Board consolidation of each of the three bodies (EKGB, ETKB & NAKMAS)
and create a new single unified National Governing Body by April 2006
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To introduce and chair the new Whole Sport Plan Implementation Board meetings (Until November 2005) prior to the
introduction of the new Board of Directors meetings (December 2005)
- To assist in the preparation of legal documentation which will outline and support
the complete unification process (this will be completed by November 2005)
- To explore all methods of transition from the three current bodies (EKGB, ETKB and NAKMAS) to one new NGB
- To establish a transparent system of integration to a unified NGB
